Location: A super-secret cabin in the Uwharrie Mountains near Troy
We have reserved a large cabin for the workshop, allowing us to have the whole place to ourselves. There are 8 bedrooms with 4 bunks in each room so you may have to share your room with one other participant. You can pick your roommate after you arrive Thursday evening. There are also shared bathrooms, like in a dorm, with multiple sinks and stalls. For more information about the cabin, see below under the What To Bring area.
What To Bring:
Please bring your camera(s), your camera manual, your selection of lenses, a tripod, and a laptop (if you would like to). This retreat is a great opportunity to ask us questions about your gear and to get to know your camera better.
We will be heading into town for some meals. Please bring your own snacks/drinks and breakfast items. There is a small kitchen in the house with a refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, and coffee maker. There is a grill on the deck. Linens and towels are NOT provided. You will need to bring your own sleeping bag or sheets, a pillow, and towels.
We recommend bringing layers of clothing and rain gear. The weather at the end of February is very unpredictable. Please dress accordingly. We do intend to do some shooting and may be outside for extended periods of time. We'll try not to freeze anyone, but come prepared for the cold!
