WORKSHOPS, SEMINARS, &

INDIVIDUAL INSTRUCTION

To learn, read. To know, write. To master, teach.

TO VIEW CURRENTLY SCHEDULED WORKSHOPS & SEMINARS, SEE CALENDAR OF EVENTS.

As avid and dynamic instructors, we have taught all types of groups from beginning photographers and experienced professionals to crime scene agents and fire investigators. We have been instructing since 2004 and have presented to a variety of groups including photography clubs and high schools and at several events, including the Grandfather Mountain Camera Clinic.

NC ZOO PHOTO SAFARI is based off a course that was offered through the NC Zoo Society for several years. In this one day workshop, we take you on an intimate photography exploration of the NC Zoo covering topics including conquering plexiglass, finding the unexpected, and maximizing the opportune moments with the animals. This workshop customizes itself as we go through your questions and equipment.

workshops4workshops4 WORKSHOPS incorporate classroom seminars and field instruction with an emphasis on experimenting and applying new techniques in the field. These events can range in length from a weekend getaway to a week-long excursion. Workshops are great learning experiences for everyone. We customize our field instruction to suit each participant so that everyone from the beginner to the professional walks away with some new information, ideas, and inspiration. Workshops vary in cost depending on length and location.

workshops9workshops9A FIELD TRIPS are a chance to get out and shoot as a group and to concentrate all our energy on photographing and exploring one area. There are no formal seminar sessions, but there is some field instruction and advice. We do extensive research before the event to zero in on the best spots for photography during all times of the day as we will shoot throughout the day. Field Trips vary in cost depending on length and location.

workshops6workshops6 COURSES can be classroom seminars, field workshops, or a combination of both. They can last one day or be spread over several days. Courses usually concentrate on a particular techniques or process, like the Basics of Photography, High Dynamic Range photography, Macro Photography and Creative Techniques, etc. Courses vary in cost depending on length and location.

INDIVIDUAL INSTRUCTION is available to anyone wanting plenty of one-on-one instruction. This is a way for you to design your own workshop or course. Individual Instruction can be done at your home, at a coffee shop, or out in the field shooting. You determine what style is most comfortable for you and fits the goals you are trying to reach. It is an excellent way to learn specific software like Adobe Photoshop, Aperture, Niks HDR Efex Pro, etc. Individual Instruction costs $60 per hour. Expenses, like mileage, meals, and hotels, may apply and are additional.

LARGE GROUP INSTRUCTION is available for photography clubs or anyone else who has a larger group. Your group would decide the type of seminar or workshop you would like. We would be responsible for setting the schedule and running the event. The group would set up the location (i.e. the classroom). The cost for a seminar or one day workshop is $600 per day of instruction (one day = 6 hours of instruction). The cost for full workshops, like a weekend workshop, is $1000 per day for each day of instruction. The maximum number of participants for a seminar depends on the size of the classroom space. For workshops, the maximum number of participants is set at 14 people. Expenses, like mileage, meals, hotels, and classroom rental, may apply and are additional.

Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to set up an event.

We would be happy to give you a quote for your small or large group for any type of event.
